Review of Dil Chahta Hai (2001) by Bijul S — 31 Mar 2008
The "Indian New Wave" of sorts, if not that...then it has definitely bought a change in the way films are made; and most importantly how they are viewed.
The makers have stuck to basic rules of film making and have yet come up with a masterpiece. There is really nothing wrong in this film. Characters, screenplay, music, production design. The acting is so natural and realistic, the songs fit the movie well. There is not a single moment in this film where you would want to fast forward a part.
Thank you Farhaan Akhtar for making commerical films look so sensible and classy.
