Review of Digimon: The Movie (2000) by Zack P — 26 Feb 2011
I really enjoyed this movie because I was a fan of the animated series. But looking at it as a movie critic, it is really lacking. It was originally three television, but they were all put together to make one feature length movie.
This is very evident, because each of the three sections have their own rising action and climax. Also, this movie is all for action. It has little emotional effect (if you did it was because you grew fond of the characters by watching the animated series but NOT from this movie), character development, plot development, and basically every other topic that would require more than general thought to achieve.
The battles are even in a back-and-forth fashion as to who decides to use the next strongest weapon they already had first. Regardless, if you were a strong fan of the series like I was, you might find it a lot of fun.
As for judging it as a stand alone movie, I can't really recommend it to anyone.
