Review of Digimon: The Movie (2000) by Laurie O — 02 Jun 2009
Its note worthy as another staple of my childhood and a somewhat story driven (at a children's level) movie. Which combines a prequel story of the season one characters (the story that was constantly hinted at throughout the show), a nice follow up to the season one conclusion.
(Taking on a new villian who is billed as being, of course, more powerful then any of the original comic book and movie rip off villians from the show.) Finally following into the adventures of the season two characters with another short story that is subtley connected to the others and ties up the whole movie very nicely.
Again following the same formula of Pokemon (coming out in the same year as the second Pokemon movie) but also standing fairly well on its own two feet for a children's movie. 'Nuff said.
