Review of Digimon: The Movie (2000) by Joey W — 15 Jun 2010
I love this movie!
Like some other films I've reviewed it was made for a specific group instead of everyone. Although the difference here from other films made from some kind of a following is, that the movie was a good place to start if you're not familiar with the series. In fact, I still watch this movie from time to time, it's a guilty pleasure no doubt.
I think the voice acting is superb, the jokes are funny, the story is clever, the characters are awesome, the soundtrack is so great I still listen to it today, and the animation still holds up after all this time.
If you're a fan of Digimon this movie is simply amazing, but even if you're not a fan it's still a treat to watch if you enjoy anime or have a sense of humor. Some people tend to take some movies very seriously, and that's fine, I do too. However, this movie is not meant to be taken completely serious, it's a fun ride and a great piece of nostalgia to hang on too!
What else can I say but, Digimon were champions of the digital world and champions of my childhood!
