Review of Diggstown (1992) by Simon W — 27 Dec 2010
Another one from my youth that doesn't quiet hold up. It's not a bad movie but it isn't anywhere near as much fun as I remember. The problem mostly is the tone. It's trying for both light and fun mixed with dark and serious and can never really find that balance. Not like say, My Cousin Vinnie which gets it right. That definately leaned closer to the light and fun side (Which is where this kind of movie is meant to live) but the threat was serious and real.
All in all it's only okay with the con only just holding water - but with a nice satisfying finishing wink.
