Review of Digging for Fire (2015) by John K — 30 Sep 2015
Joe Swanberg finds himself back in the same territory he occupied with Drinking Buddies, shining a light into the small cracks that exist within every relationship with a natural feeling. While the film is focused on the re-birth that has to occur with individuals when they choose to grow up, the film is also adept at artfully capturing the intricacies of relationships perfectly, creating tension out of everyday moments.
Beyond that, the characters are well-drawn and the dialogue is consistently phenomenal, as this was one of the best scripts of the year.
