Review of Diggers (2007) by Alex S — 04 May 2007
Very well written screenplay and carried out beautifully by the actors involved. Some may argue that there isn't much going on, but the truth is there is a very deep story here about guys in their 30s having a difficult time with the normal trial and tribulations in life.
The excellent cast and dialogue are what make this film such a joy to watch. The nostalgia of the 70s is portrayed wonderfully by director Dieckmann; along with some nice shots as well.
If you're expecting a comedy, this isn't your film. It's a dramatic piece of cinema with a few chuckles along the way.
A film that's easy to relate to and nice to look at and almost inhale. I was very pleasantly surprised. Available on DVD and in theaters simultaneously after a wonderful showing at The Toronto Int'l Film Festival.
