Review of Dig (2012) by Eunoia L — 14 Aug 2005
4 Movies. I don't know why I wasn't watching movies much. I guess I just didn't want to watch what was on my Que. But I started to finish a few of the movies so heres the reviews.
Dig.
This was a good documentary. It's based on the Dandy Warhols and the Brian Jonestown Massacre. It shows the rise of the Dandy Warhols and the collapse and troubles of the Brian Jonestown Massacre. Based around the Anton Newcombe the leader of the Jonestown, it shows his fights with his bandmembers, his refusal to deal with record companies and his struggles with drugs. It's interesting although as much as Newcombe comes off as an asshole, I really felt like Courtney Taylor the lead singer of the Warhols comes off even worse.
Million Dollar Baby.
This had to be the most overrated movie that I've seen recently. Clint Eastwood is cool but the whole thing just felt boring and overdramatic. And I really really don't like Hillary Swank. I don't know what it is but I'm just not a fan of the over earnest look at me thing that's always going on with her. The whole movie was just ridiculous like why she started out fighting in an arena and then had to start at lower fight classes. Didn't make any sense.
National Treasure.
This was a real fun flick but just had alot of cliches. When it was trying to be smart or suave it kindve just felt forced but it was still fun and had alot of adventure and twists to it that kept it interesting to the end.
Feeling Minnesota.
Well, being a Minnesotan I figured I should watch this film and see what it was all about. Starring Keanu Reeves and Cameron Diaz, it was pretty bad. JUst this meandering plot about 2 brothers who love one woman but both the brothers and the woman are assholes so you don't really care about any of them and it just gets more convoluted and boring as it rolls on.
