Sure, it portrays Anton Newcombe (lead singer of Brian Jonestown Massacre) in a freaky, scary light...but it rocks and rolls and shows budding young musicians how to avoid some of the pitfalls and traps of the moribund music industry.

Also, expect some great tunes in the soundtrack that plays throughout. The tambourine player may steal the spotlight, but this film remains a compelling look at what it takes to make it in show business, and how getting signed can affect a person or people in a band.
