Review of Die Hard: With a Vengeance (1995) by Jacob O — 05 Apr 2011
The second entry in the long-suffering spectrum of Die Hard sequels approaches the series in a rather different manner; this time, John McClane teams up with a store owner played by Samuel L. Jackson. While the film has some merit for rehiring the director of the first film, John McTiernan, and indeed Jeremy Irons as Hans Gruber's even more evil brother, it feels too much like Lethal Weapon to stomach any kind of originality, and Jackson's level of cool is nowhere near his fantastic turn in Pulp Fiction one year previously.
