"JOHN MCCLANE MUST SAVE NEW YORK".
- The third installment in the 'Die Hard' film franchise surrounding the action hero John McClane is this 'Die Hard with a Vengeance' from 1995. I find this part better than the second movie. The action takes place in New York city and has everything a good action movie needs: lots of shooting, high speed chases, a great villain and a slightly humoristic note. I would also like to mention the soundtrack, which was very well chosen. With Bruce Willis (Die Hard, The Sixth Sense), Samuel L. Jackson (Pulp Fiction, Jurassic Park) and Jeremy Irons (Beautiful Creatures, Kingdom of Heaven).
After a bomb goes off in the Bonwit Teller department store in New York, a man who calls himself 'Simon' (Irons) telephones to the police and claims that he has placed more explosive devices in the city. In order to stop them from going off, he demands that John McClane (Willis) performs a series of childish tasks. The first one is to wear a sign saying 'I hate all niggers' in the centre of Harlem. It doesn't take long before shop owner Zeus Carver (Jackson) notice him standing on the street. He goes outside to talk to McClan, but can't prevent a group of teens wanting to beat him up.
Back at the police station, Simon calls again. He wants McClane and his new made friend Zeus to go to a certain location and solve a riddle. Doing so, the two men get to know that one of the bombs is on a subway train. Who is this crazy Simon? And can they stop his bombs that threaten New York?
