Willis as McClane gets a partner - Samuel L. Jackson, who unwillingly involves himself in a police business to catch the bad guy bombing the city, played by Irons. He appears to be the brother of Rickman's bad guy from the 1st movie, and claims it's a all a revenge for McClane for killing his brother.
But in the end it's just about the money from the Federal Reserve Bank. Also couple of time ticking bombs are involved - one at school, another on the ship.
