Review of Die Hard (1988) by Lenin P — 31 Dec 2012
Die Hard is the fruit of 80's action movies that perfects the models that preceeded it. It is great fun, full of action and one liners. The characters are also given some depth by bringing the audience into the middle of a storyline for the main characters rather than beginning with one throughout the movie.
The only flaw is the arrogance and idiocy from the police chief and FBI agents. I am not sure the context of their behavior (portrayal in movies, or a product of its time), but the film could have been excellent with less details on their backward thought process.
I think their actions could have been performed with less blatant ignorance from the side characters. Nevertheless, it set the bar for action special effects and anti-hero lead characters in action movies.
