Review of Die Hard (1988) by Jeremy F — 25 Dec 2014
Still the best action movie ever made! I love the foreshadowing throughout the movie. A few examples are the conversation between the passenger on the airplane and McClane when he got the advice to make fists with your toes, that's the reason he's barefoot the entire movie. Also the argument which lead to Holly slamming the picture down in anger, that kept their identity as husband and wife hidden from the terrorists through most of the movie. Even something as subtle as when Argyle says "So ,you see each other, the music comes up and you live happily ever after". Their first meeting, the music comes up at that moment.
This is the original plot line that's been imitated time and time again. In his acting debut,Alan Rickman has made Hans Gruber one the most iconic, sinister and brilliant villains of all time!
