Review of Die Another Day (2002) by Craig F — 09 Aug 2015
What a nosedive after the last outing. Pike was the only detail I remembered about the movie and for good reason. Even then, although her part is poorly written, she takes control with a commanding presence and proves to be the sole redeeming quality of the movie before the final act.
That being said, her betrayal of MI6 is really bad done, in part due to her brief screen time, but that's all on the writers. Did they even see the last film? Or did they just intentionally copy? There's not one good action scene, no good effects, and Berry is the worst part of all 21 movies to date.
The Moneypenny parts were stupid and Madsen was out of place, but Cleese was a bright spot. It's a terrible Roger Moore Bond on steroids, I feel bad Brosnan not only had to endure this, but that it's the movie came to define his tenure as Bond.
