Review of Die Another Day (2002) by Brian S — 05 Jan 2011
Despite the awesome premise with power-mad North Koreans, creepy henchmen, double agents, and spicy hints of romance, the execution of this closing chapter of the Brosnan saga is a hard slap in the face to the franchise to which it's supposedly paying a 40-year tribute.
over-priced special effects and a barrage of God-awful puns. that is this movie in a nutshell. obviously punny humour and nifty gadgetry is part of what makes Bond Bond, but this overdoes it to the worst extremes.
the stars of this movie are not what they should be--a suave super-spy, his sexy super-spy girlfriends, and the blue-eyed North Koreans trying to take over the world. that's a good Bond movie. wasting all our time with everything else is not.
