Review of Dick Tracy (1990) by Brett B — 19 Mar 2010
It's got a heck of a cast (has Pacino ever been as much fun to watch as he is in this?), excellent sets and production design, and a very strong musical score by Danny Elfman. Still, with all that going for it, something just feels off.
I can't put my finger on it, but perhaps it has to do with Beatty's relative inexperience in this genre. That said, I still think it's pretty darn good.
