Review of Dick Tracy (1990) by Eric C — 30 Mar 2013

I recently re-watched this show as an adult instead of a kid and it was even worse than I remember. There's an all star cast including legends Warren Beatty and Al Pacino, Madonna in her prime, and the Jack kid from Hook who is also in his prime (What ever happened to him? Where is he now?) playing "The Kid" Oliver Twist-like orphan character, a tongue in cheek comic book/40s film noir vibe, and a classic super hero-like detective story.

I don't quite understand how it doesn't work because on paper, all the things are there for a great gimmick movie. But it just doesn't work. And that's a shame.
