The POV style is becoming more popular due to the fact that it is as stated in the movie the new form of journalism. However, this film leaves a lot to be desired. The acting was horrible, and the script wasn't that much better.
It's still entertaining though but only if you're a hardcore fan of zombie/undead films, otherwise you're better off sticking to Romero's earlier films or the Dawn of the Dead remake.
