Review of Diary of the Dead (2007) by Steve B — 18 May 2009
"Diary of the Dead" pales in comparison to Romero's previous Dead films and offers some interesting yet overly illustrated social commentary combined with mindless entertainment. Unfortunately, the film suffers from a mediocre script and even worse acting which ultimately weakens the sparse effectiveness the film holds.
In the end, "Diary of the Dead" is a fun departure from the norm of modern horror films but there are far too many distracting flaws that make this a disappointing addition to an otherwise brilliant filmmakers resume.
