Review of Diary of the Dead (2007) by Matt H — 21 Jun 2009

I like the idea of this film, however I think that REC pulled it off a lot better. Even though this was supposed to be documented footage of a zombie attack it felt very polished. They tried to explain it by saying they edited it down, and added fitting music, but I think I would have enjoyed it if the film had been lower quality and there was no soundtrack.

The best part of this movie were the zombie kills. I like the originality of how some of the zombies were killed as much as I liked seeing each sequel to Mortal Kombat introduce new fatalities when I was a kid. Can't wait to see how zombies are killed in the next zombie film.
