Review of Diary of the Dead (2007) by Stefano L — 18 Aug 2011
It was decent. But the thing that really bugged me was how it was filmed. I mean I know Romero wanted it to seem like it was based off of real life, but I think it failed at that. This is because the cast was really fake and not that believable.
As a fiction type movie I see this piece being pretty decent. But as non fiction, not so good. The zombies, like in most of Romero's movies, are pretty good and there is some decent make up. They cut back a little on this film to make it more like a virus and not so much decayed people rising from the grave.
I would change many things about this movie like scenes, cast members and some different filming styles, but I would never change Romero's outlook on the zombie itself.
