"Diary of a Wimpy Kid 2: Rodrick Rules" manages to pull off a sequel that meets its predecessors marks, but the film (like its original) lacks true depth, which is similar to the book. The film is funny Rodrick and Greg Heffley's brotherly love is fun to watch, and other characters are enjoyable as well.
It's fun to watch, but nothing as special as more deepening films out there.
