Review of Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days (2012) by L Z — 20 Apr 2013
What's wrong with critics. This movie deserves more than a 50% rating. So what if it has low brow humor. Have you seen the Adam Sandler movies? They are all low brow. This isn't the opera or a high finesse film.
This is a kids movie, more correctly a preteen boys movies. Its a winning formula for family fun and they've stuck with it and it's hilarious. I'm sick all the action dead body pile ups and special effects.
it isn't wierd like some of the other kids movies the critics love. This is human. Yes sadly Greg is selfish, just like many adults I know. He isn't offered up as a hero, he's real life, as he is, warts and all.
I hope they develop all the books because this is a predictable laugh. It also reinforces family life. No matter how much Roderick screws up or how Greg disappoints his dad. he forgives him. The family with all its flaws regroups and stands together as a team.
There are far too many attacks on family life now. I think this is a movie your kids can relate to and the adults can laugh at also. And yes it does promote family values. We want to see more of the same Hollywood.
