Review of Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days (2012) by Grant L — 17 Aug 2012
Maybe it was a wrong decision for making it rotten in this site. The third instalment of Diary of a Wimpy Kid was really interesting with a bit of drama that talks about the father and son relationship. Although, it was called Dog Days, the story still focus on a real family issue and not to their new pet.
So at first it was totally dead. I 'am a Wimpy Kid fan and still I felt the dead scenes on the first part of the movie until it reach the climax that targets my funny bones. The ending was totally a blast that you shouldn't miss. Which I can say that I rather to listen to Rodrick's "Baby" than Justin Biebers.
It was different from the book, like 50% comes from a new idea and the other half is from the book. Well, I have no problems with it because it just made the story not so predictable for the fans.
Greg and his dad really did a great job of giving an inspiring relationship to each other. A bit awkward for some reason but still it has a moral lesson that you can learn.
Devon Bostick, made the whole movie funny at all. He is just a bad ass comedian.
Yeah, it failed to make OLD people laugh but as a kid or a kid at heart like me, I seriously like it and it was hilarious at all. I maybe too biased but it's a great movie. The only problem was there are some people don't see what I actually see in the movie.
