Review of Diary of a Mad Black Woman (2005) by Alysia V — 19 Sep 2008
Tyler Perry's characters of Madea & Joe annoyed me to no end. I think I could have enjoyed this movie a lot more if it weren't for them. But even the lead character, played by Kimberly Elise, got on my nerves.
She had so much anger that she just didn't seem to want to let go of. I know her ex-husband was a jerk, but you can't let those things get inside your head like that. I did, however, love what her mother told her when she was talking about when you have anger like that towards someone, you're letting them control your life and have power over you and you've got to forgive them and yourself.
I completely agree with that, so there were a few redeeming qualities to this movie, but overall, I was just annoyed.
