Review of Diana Krall | Live at the Montreal Jazz Festival (2004) by Mark A — 08 Apr 2010
A lovely performance by a talented and lovely performer, set at the Montreal Jazz Festival. Surrounded by a group of terrific musicians, she enthralled this viewer and, judging from the reaction, the crowd for the full hour and a half.
And it is a ninety minute concert, not he advertised sixty, and there is little patter between songs other than to introduce (and re-introduce) the band and the next song. The musicianship on display here is exquisite.
This viewer particularly enjoyed the shots of the keyboard as her fingers danced and the cool melody poured out like honey from the pot. A very relaxing evening awaits.
