Review of Diana (2013) by Gerardo M — 16 Feb 2014
Its disappointing that this will be the first dramatic portrayal of the late Princess Diana on the big screen, not because of the casting of the titular role, as Naomi Watts does the best she can mastering the iconic speech patterns and look of Diana, it is more the focus of the film specifically focuses on the "unknown relationship" with Dr Khan for several years after her divorce and how the writters and directors tried to portray her as Notting Hill type of character just a girl asking a guy to love him but with the bittersweet ending.
With no visual representation of the other royals on the screen despite a little audio and even with Dodi Fayed receiving little depth other than a 2 dimentional representation for a few moments at the end of the film, you get the feeling that this could have been any number of different side of the worlds relationship films.
No rewards and offers nothing new thats worth repeating regarding a 20th century icon. Could have been way better.
