Review of Diana (2013) by Alison F — 24 Sep 2013
Interesting subject but poor screenplay. First of all, the movie would be completely pointless if the love story excluded Diana. Knowing it is her love story does not change a lot. On another hand, people want to see some special events, interviews, parts of life, things they know.
You cannot watch a biopic about Diana without the willing to see her youth, her marriage, her divorce, her death, etc. It is very difficult to focus a biopic on only one small part of the character's life, and Diana failed as much as My Week with Marilyn did.
Naomi gives a very good performance, though (the BBC interview is terrific).
