Review of Diamonds Are Forever (1971) by Jason W — 17 Dec 2012
It might be cheesy but it is fun to see Sean Connery in action as 007 in this Diamond caper that comes across more like a goofy Austin Powers spoof today than a James Bond picture. There are some eye rolling moments and questionable portrayals of certain characters that come off weird such as the two assassin characters Mr.
Wint and Mr. Kidd, plus Bambi and Thumper that were serving as guards hold to Willard Whyte hostage. Despite the disappointing ending fight on the oil drill platform that was more of a dud, Diamond Are Forever is loaded with cheesy fun that is at times thrilling to watch.
