Connery returns to show Lazenby how to single-handedly hold up a Bond movie, and his age doesn't take away from his charisma here. However, there are so many large setpieces and location shifts that the early spying transforms into chases and bombardments similar to those of Thunderball, and the franchise's formula was wearing out then, too.
