Review of Dial M for Murder (1981) by Enrico C — 15 Aug 2008
Although Hitchcock considered this one of his worst movies, it's a brilliant one and it's perfect to begin to study the master's style. As we all know the film was shot in 3d and Hitchcock decided not to abuse of this tecnique and he set up a sort of a theatre scene, giving to those who view the feeling of the stage and underlining the most dramatic moments (the murder with scissors, the telephone.
..). It's also one of the best spoken movie I saw, with great dialogues and great actors (Milland, Williams) and a magnificent Grace Kelly.
