Review of Dial M for Murder (1981) by Robert O — 29 Jan 2011
I thought I had seen this before. I have an image in my head. Funny thing, it didn't match the movie I saw today. :).
I love Hitchcock. This is a classic thriller. We know all along who did it, but it is told so compellingly that one just has to watch.
Grace Kelly is a dream to watch onscreen.
As I watched this I kept thinking it seemed similar to Perfect Murder with Michael Douglas and Gwenth Paltrow. Sure enough, a quick Wikipedia search showed that Perfect Murder was a remake of Dial M for Murder.
Movie was a bit long. There was actually an intermission break in the middle. What a throwback!
This isn't my favorite Hitchcock movie, but I would gladly watch it again.
