Review of Dial M for Murder (1954) by Carly H — 03 Nov 2009
A good suspense thriller and battle of wits, though I find (Romantic-Victorian, bourgeois, Anglo-Catholic) Hitchcock's genial authoritarianism rather tiresome/annoying (and his attempt to capture the distressed psychological state of Grace Kelly at her trial is, not atypically, weak/clumsy/laughable).
Better than Rope, worse than Rear Window.
