Review of Dial M for Murder (1954) by Gabriel C — 13 Jun 2010
Hitchcock is really a hit and miss with me, sometimes I think he's a genius, and sometimes I think he's too sly for his own good. This movie made me think the former.
It's what Hitchcock does best, when he isn't preoccupied with his own cleverness. A murder, an amateur crook and a good detective. The traditional formula for all murder mysteries, which all becomes an engaging ride in the hands of the master.
