Review of Dial M for Murder (1954) by Matt R — 13 Jun 2010
Dial M for Murder (1954) is my favourite Hitchcock movie so far. I liked it better than Rear Window (1954), Vertigo (1958) and Strangers on a Train (1951)--the other Hitchcock films I've seen in the last year.
The DVD included an interesting bit about how the studios forced directors to make movies of this era in 3D. It was subtly done by Hitchcock. This is a very good, simple, suspenseful movie. There are some parallels to Woody Allen's Match Point, which I also enjoyed.
If you want to know what the fuss is about Hitchcock, see Dial M for Murder.
