Review of Dial M for Murder (1954) by Brett H — 16 Sep 2014
An absolutely brilliant and claustrophobic murder story that is one of the first examples of 3D film-making way back before it became so over-used today! The plot is simple, yet it will make your head spin with all the accusations and revelations building throughout.
It's obvious it was adapted from a play as the setting is mainly one apartment, and the dialogue is brisk and unbroken for long periods of time. The film is completely reliant on dialogue so at times it can feel a little slow, but it is so worth it making it to the end! Hitchcock truly knew how to build suspense, and this film is no exception; got to love that title too!
