Review of Dial M for Murder (1954) by Daniel B — 08 Feb 2011
Htchcock's first colour film and now firmly one of my favourites. This one was shot entirely in one room (it was adapted from a play) but I was so engrossed that I didn't notice until the end. Hitchcock's cinematography keeps moving around so there is no claustrophobic feeling.
The dialogue is a bit long-winded and chatty at times, but I can forgive that in a drawing room murder. Grace Kelly is just radiant.
