Review of Devil's Knot (2013) by Will L — 27 Jul 2014
A true story delivered quite well. The south has had a long history of discriminating those that are different from race, gender, sexual orientation, and as depicted in this film religion. When those around you willingly "go along" with a false story to cast the blame on those that are different, things like this happen and people have their lives shattered.
The lack of evidence from the trial is staggering and worth reading more on as this is not the only case to have this outcome. Unlike many movies the point of this film is not to point the blame at one side or the other but rather to illustrate the lack of proof and that a reasonable doubt was able to be shown.
