Review of Devil's Gate (2018) by Diane V — 04 Dec 2018

The horror movie that almost was. Great acting all around couldn't help this story one bit. Every word of dialogue seemed to come from other movies I've seen in the past. Character motivations also felt like déjà vu, as if the movie was using well established recipes.

It just didn't work and ended up being a sequence of well executed special effects devoid of human emotions. I couldn't even care for the child which is a bad indication of failure in story telling.
