Review of Devil's Due (2014) by Robert H — 02 Dec 2014
Why oh why do they insist on continuing to put out garbage like this when there are sooooo many better films in the genre?
Yet another found footage film hits the market. Combining aspects from a multitude of films Devil's Due tells the story of a newlywed couple, their honeymoon, their sudden pregnancy, and the evil that surrounds it.
This is the kind of thing I expect from this generations direct-to-video releases and yet Devil's Due managed a wide release and suckered a few moviegoers looking for their horror fix into paying their good money for lesser than adequate compensation.
Is Devil's Due technically sound? Sure. Is the story good? No, it's not original in any form. Is there anything new brought to the genre with this film? Absolutely not. And thus, this film gets one star on grounds of technical competence but ultimately fails in everything else.
