Review of Devil (2010) by Sumit B — 09 Sep 2011

The next handful of reviews are from films I saw over the past few weeks, but have been too busy with the first few weeks of school to write about. So since I have some time, I figured I'd get them all out of the way.

Let me begin by saying that I have yet to see any movie directed by M. Night Shyamalan, but I have heard many opinions on them. Going in, I wasn't looking forward to much, but this one was really, really bad. It's really silly, not scary at all, and features some of the most unlikeable, ridiculous characters ever. If this movie wasn't called "Devil", but called something else with the twist being that the devil is in the elevator with them, then it might have been a bit more of a surprise. But since we all know going in that the devil is there, it's not scary with really broad stereotypes and poorly written characters. I really do not recommend this movie at all.
