This movie is mostly puzzling that outright terrifying. It is scary. The miss-en-scene is fabulous, 5 strangers trapped in an elevator and one by one, they die a gruesome death, save the last one, Tony (Logan Marshall-Green), in top form, finds salvation by confessing the truth about a family (The Bowdens) he accidentally killed 5 years prior. The antagonist is the devil incarnate, the name devil means accuser. The movie does not make it clear who the protagonist is. This is an entertaining motion picture.

A Night Chronicles Production, a Project Green light equivalent, M.Night Shyamalan comes up with a story and an up and coming director helms the movie.

The director of photography is the veteran Tak Fujimoti, who gives us a visual climate for the movie to thrive, the script by Brian Nelson is another solid contribution to the movie. The chase for the truth while people are slowly dying in the elevator is the opportunity for the audience to gasp for air in this airtight thriller.

The are many characters and each character brings something unique to the play, Lustig (Matt Craven) and Ramirez (Jacob Vargas) are confused a bit and their limited jobs as security guards limits the extent of their help to the situation, matters improve when Detective Bowden (Chris Messina) shows up and starts asking proper questions and issue appropriate commands that results in us getting some long awaited answers, this is refreshingly balanced.

Highly recommended.
