Immediately as the movie settled into its rhythm I found a comparison with the film and Cluedo.

Cluedo is sometimes a generally fun game where you have to guess who the murder is but as it drags on continuously you then begin to think, what's the point?

Devil follows a similar premise as four strangers are coincidentally grouped together in an elevator which breaks down - the passengers are trapped. Things get heated to when they begin to realise one of the people aren't who they seem.

Jenny O'Hara, Bojana Novakovic, Bokeem Woodbine, Geoffrey Arend and Logan Marshall-Green portray the terrified crew very well and this contributes to the guessing game of, who is the mysterious character?

Sadly, the premise of the majority of the film taking place in a life shaft sounds dull - it is. The small cuboid capacity was always going to be a tough thing to use as the main area of the film as there isn't much you can do with it. After 10 minutes or so of it, the film drops increasingly from pretty good to pretty average.

The Cluedo aspect of the film is fun and there are some genuinely creepy moments that make Devil very watchable; the premise is too dull though and it quickly becomes tiresome. Poor directing to stage the film in an elevator for nearly the whole duration - very unintelligent!
