Review of Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo (2005) by Gavin P — 03 Mar 2008
Not being a fan of the first Deuce film or particularly fond of this film genre that much to start with the odds were stacked against me even being remotely amused by the sequel. On the other hand I was feeling quite mindless, had a free rental and a desire for trash so found myself squeezing the odd giggle through my tight lips as Deuce proceeded to court a handful of defective bimbos who, despite their flaws, are assuredly supermodel material.
European Gigolo is yet another comedy that makes the false assumption that gross is funny. Not so in almost every attempt made by this film. Especially true in regards to a gag involving a throat hole and a woman born with a certain male appendage for a nose.
Save European Gigolo for those moments of desperation when your only other choices are reruns of American Idol, the Biggest Loser and the Apprentice: Martha Stewart.
