Review of Detroit Metal City (2008) by Chris C — 15 Oct 2009
It just makes me laugh out loud. It is touching warming with fantasy style presentation. Matsuyama's acting is tremendously funny. The opening scene is so beautifully pictured. It is a picture describing the contradiction in a teenager's heart: I want to be famous.
.. but not in this disgusting way. If you can be famous in such a way will you continue to do it? If yes, why? The film didn't use a blue tone to describe the situation. Instead it used a light comedy tone which I admired most: always look on the bright side of life.
The relationship between mum and Soichi Negishi is so touching. Masami Nagasawa did a great job to be Soichi's love angel.
