While the film feels like it drags near the finale, Detroit is another gut wrenching true story from Kathryn Bigelow. Delivering incredible acting from the entire cast, brutally tense sequences, and raw emotion, creates a very necessary (but extremely draining) film about racism and the parallels it holds today.
