Review of Detroit (2017) by Tim M — 08 Mar 2018
A little over indulgent at times, but a powerful and necessary message that the more things change they stay the same if we allow that to be the case and turn a blind eye. This is a really well put together feature with few flaws.
The emotion this elicits from the viewer will vary, but it's none the less important from anyone. We must recognize that life for blacks in inner-cities has progressed, but not substantially. Relevant, even 50 years later, it's required viewing if you have the stomach to see the injustice in our nation.
If you don't it's likely you're ok with that injustice and that's a shame. Final Score: 8.2/10.
