Devastating... particularly since it could happen again with the bigotry and racism that is so prevalent in our country today. The deniers will say it never happened, but even if some of it was fictionalized, there is no question that something really horrible went down in the Algiers Motel.

And yes, it IS violent, but why sugar-coat it? Plus the acting was exceptional. It's not often that I find myself asking why an actor would take a despicable role that made me dislike them so intensely.
