Review of Detention of the Dead (2012) by Max H — 22 Jun 2013
Jeff Chang(21&Over) was in it, that's probably the only reason I bothered watching it. Conclusion? Not as bad as I expected it, sure the trailer is a big turn off and the film surely has a budget of about 500k but maybe it was not horrible.
The movies takes of quickly, typical zombie apocalypse, no idea on how it happened just the typical "if you're bit, then you're doomed" situation. And of course to everyone one of these films you have your typical survival group.
Funny thing is, this film makes fun of that, in fact it makes fun of not only the zombie films made over the last 30 years but also the obsession over popularity and high school melodrama. The acting is pretty bad, story isn't as interesting but there are a few chuckles to be had.
If it hadn't been funny, the film would've got a pitch black 0 but Detention Of The Dead gets a 4/10.
